2006 Conference Highlights

Ruth Cooperrider, USOA President, conducts the Board of Directors meeting.

by one of the instructors, Pat Shannahan, Ombudsman for the State of Arizona.

  Micheal Thompson, Executive Director of Iowa Mediation Service, Inc. conducted a pre-conference workshop about Advanced Dispute Resolution Processes and Techniques.  

Robin Matsunaga, Ombudsman
for the State of Hawaii, and Judith Milosevich, an Assistant Ombudsman for the State of Iowa, enjoy the opening reception.

  The conference keynote address
was delivered by André Marin, Ombudsman of Ontario.

 Tangita Daramola, Senior Advisor
to the Medicare Beneficiary Ombudsman, was the guest speaker
at the Healthcare Chapter meeting. 

Iowa Ombudsman staff Jeri Burdick Crane and Kyle White assist at the registration table.

Scott Raecker, Executive Director for the Institute of Character Development at Drake University, led a plenary session
on Civility in the Public Arena.

 The conference banquet was held
at the Iowa Historical Building and included a performance by the Isiserettes Drill and Drum Corps
from Des Moines. 

 

 

 

  Banquet guests were also serenaded by Las Guitarras De Mexico, a mariachi quartet from Des Moines.

 Banquet guests could not resist participating in the festivities.
